Grandparents Night (9th):Kids invite their grandparents to the classroom and show them around. There is usually a theme and the classrooms and hallway are decorated accordingly. Classroom parents provide snacks, refreshments, and decorations. There is usually a slideshow in the cafeteria.
Turkey Trot Pep Rally (17th) :Held in the Gym. The kids wear their color class t-shirts, make signs (totally optional), and have noisemakers (totally mandatory!!). It is a time to get excited about our school fundraiser. Eddie the Eagle is usually there along with the Turkey and everyone does the Turkey Trot dance! Special guest appearances are likely.
Turkey Trot (26th):This is Crosswind’s big fundraiser. The children have collected pledges ahead of time (and can continue after) and run laps at the trot track. On the day of the race, the kids wear their class t-shirts. Each grade participates at a specific time during the event. Each class will need to provide volunteers for various needs, refreshments, and a cold treat afterwards. The kids look forward to this event each year! There is music and lots of energy!
